If you would like to have one of our Hertfordshire-based architects visit your home for a more in-depth discussion, then you can organise an architectural consultation straight away. You can book this service directly by paying for it using the online payment system below. This will take you to an online calendar where you can book a time with one of our experienced architects.

How it works

We call this service our Architects Home Visit and this service is designed to give you an in-person consultation with a fully qualified architect so that you can get advice and direction on your property project. The Architects Home Visit includes the following items:

  • You supply us with the property address and a brief outline of your objectives.

  • We then research your property in terms of its location, context, and the local planning policies.

  • We then attend your property for a 1-hour consultation where we walk around the property with you.

  • The purpose of the consultation is to help you decide what is possible in terms of extensions and renovations and it can help narrow down the options and give a clear direction forward.

  • You can also ask us questions about the structure, condition or issues you are having, and we will help you find answers and solutions.

  • Once we have fully reviewed the property and completed our discussion we then go back to the office and provide a summary email and the suggested next steps to help you move your project forward.

This service is aimed at homeowners looking to rework their existing properties or people about to purchase a new home. The service can be invaluable if you are about to make a large investment and would like a professional opinion on the potential of your new home.

Who are these architectural consultations suitable for?

Our architectural consultations are best-suited for people who are at the start of their property project and who are looking for a better understanding of the architectural process, design possibilities and the logistical feasibility of their ideas. We’ll visit properties throughout Hertfordshire, London and the Home Counties.

What happens during the session?

You can see all stages of the process here. Once we’ve wrapped up our consultation, we’ll put together a comprehensive (but easily digestible) PDF pack for you. It’ll include everything we’ve discussed during the consultation, as well as a fee proposal for your project. This will be sent to you via email so that you can read and digest in your own time. If you would like to move forward, we can begin the next stage of the design process once our fee has been agreed.

What do I have to do prior to your visit?

Not much at all! All we need from you is to complete a short form to let us know what your goals for your project are, and then we’ll be back in touch with you to arrange our visit. Estate agents' plans if you have them are also really useful.

What scenarios have you consulted on before?

Our architectural consultations have covered almost every imaginable scenario! Whether the project is simple or much more complex, we’ll be able to advise using our professional architectural experience. Some scenarios we’ve worked on have included:

  • I’d like to extend my property, but I’m not sure if I’ll succeed in having planning permission granted.

  • We’ve just moved into a new home and would like to do an entire house refurbishment.

  • We’ve recently bought a plot of land and would like to build a new home from scratch.

Who’ll conduct the home visit?

All our architectural design consultations are conducted by Christian Pinchin, our Founder and Director. Christian thrives on creating concepts from scratch and bringing clients’ visions to life through architectural design.

Christian has been working on residential extensions, renovations and new-builds for over 20 years and can bring his knowledge of architectural design, project management and construction to your specific situation. The service that we can offer is one that will help you plan your perfect project so that you know that when you move forward you are doing so in the knowledge that you will achieve your ultimate aims and objectives.
